People fall asleep and dream about all sorts of mundane and surreal things, and wheelchair users have dreams just like everyone else. But, what if I told you that most wheelchair users dream that they’re walking, even strutting in high heels, without ever owning a single pair? Or that they’re running, jumping, or playing sports, even if they’ve never thrown a ball? Or dancing the night away, even if they’ve never stepped one foot on the floor?
And the crazy part? No one really knows why.

Sylvia Longmire is a Cuban-American voice and on-screen actor, producer, and screenwriter. She is also a service-disabled US Air Force veteran, the former Ms. Wheelchair USA 2016, and a staunch disability rights advocate. As a subject matter expert on Mexico’s drug war and border security, she has spent over a decade in front of the camera as a guest expert on media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, NBC Nightly News, and The Today Show. She has also appeared in two documentary series on The History Channel and consulted for National Geographic Channel’s Border Wars and Drugs, Inc. As an accessible travel writer, Sylvia has been traveling solo across the globe in her wheelchair since 2015, producing written, photographic, and video content on the accessibility of her destinations. Her writing and photography have won awards from the Society of American Travel Writers and the North American Travel Journalists Association, and have appeared in The New York Times, Lonely Planet, The Orlando Sentinel, and New Mobility magazine. Sylvia is also the founder and President of The PreJax Foundation, a nonprofit that provides college scholarships to students affected by multiple sclerosis.

Eric Miles began his career as an Assistant State Attorney for the 9th Circuit in Orange County, Florida. Thereafter, he was an Associate Attorney for the Ticktin Law Group, where his focus was in entertainment and business contracts, mortgage foreclosure de-fense, wills, family law, and personal injury. Eric currently teaches at Full Sail University in the Entertainment Business Master’s Degree program, and also manages Miles Entertainment Group, an international, multicultural entertain-ment company, with a goal of providing high-quality entertainment in film and television for audiences across the globe.
